Abstract:   (87 Views)
Given the significance of utilizing advanced underwater equipment for safe diving operations in complex and deep environments, the present study aimed to determine the impact of employing atmospheric diving suits in underwater operations. This research adopted a mixed-methods approach, specifically a descriptive-exploratory-causal design, with a practical orientation. The statistical population for the interview process consisted of diving experts in both military and industrial sectors. These experts were identified through purposive judgmental sampling based on specific criteria, and eight individuals participated in the interviews until theoretical saturation was reached. Additionally, the statistical population for the questionnaire distribution included a subset of these experts with experience in supervising and conducting diving operations, totaling 40 individuals. All members of this population were included in the questionnaire distribution. Data collection tools in the first stage included document review and semi-structured interviews with experts, while in the second stage, a 29-item questionnaire was used for validation, with its reliability confirmed using Cronbach's alpha. Qualitative data analysis involved coding, followed by categorization, processing, and judgment, while quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. 1  The results indicated that atmospheric diving suits are effective and efficient tools in supporting diving operations in six dimensions: "safety and protection (with 7 components and a mean of 4.33)", "technical and operational (with 6 components and a mean of 4.84)", "economic (with 4 components and a mean of 4.82)", "research and scientific (with 5 components and a mean of 4.18)", "military and security (with 4 components and a mean of 4.67)", and "environmental (with 4 components and a mean of 4.12)".
