Food and Environmental Health Monitoring in Military Facilities Using Sensors

Any substance that enters the body through various routes such as inhalation, injection, or ingestion and disrupts normal physiological functions is defined as a toxin. Chemical weapons are tools or toxic substances used to target humans or other living organisms. Upon direct contact of these substances with any part of a living body, contamination occurs, leading to the development of general or agent-specific diseases. These substances may be deployed in solid, liquid, or gaseous forms. In other words, chemical agents are compounds that, when effectively applied against humans, animals, or plants, result in death or significant permanent or temporary damage to their biological structures. Poisoning of military personnel is one of the serious and sensitive issues in the fields of military law and occupational health. When a soldier experiences poisoning during service, proving the incident and determining responsibility are of great importance. The abduction of 11 personnel from the Mirjaveh Border Regiment, their poisoning through contaminated food by the terrorist group “Jaish al-Zulm,” and their transfer to Pakistan is an example of anti-security terrorist activities in Iran. Therefore, environmental and food health monitoring in military centers is of critical importance. The use of various sensors, including physical, chemical, and biological sensors, to neutralize terrorist objectives is inevitable.
